Sources of Visible and Infrared Satellite Imagery

There are many sources of current satellite imagery on the WWW. The sites that follow are easy to access and well-designed.

Satellites that are in low earth orbit, such as NOAA 14, are better for a closer look at the Earth. For the eastern United States, the Bermuda Biological Station for Research has the best collection of visible and infrared images.

The University of Rhode Island collects satellite imagery daily from the NOAA satellites and has an archive of those images dating back to 1979.
