Viewing the Earth from Space

Space Availableincludes over fifty learning activities that help students to understand the principles of remote sensing, imaging science, oceanography, meteorology and ecology. You can either access the satellite images that are required for the activities through links from the Space Available activity pages, or you can head directly to the images that you need.

At the request of several teachers in Maine, we have compiled information about some of the images that we use in the classroom.

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center has compiled an excellent set of WWW pages on phytoplankton. The pages contain explanations of the images and the phenomena observed.
